Let Us Love

by Thomas   Aug 5, 2012

Let us be my love
like words carved in stone
So that nothing can separate us
and we can stand the test of time

Let us talk my love
like old couples still do
Whispering in each others ears
Secrets not to be shared

Let us dance my love
like petals in the wind
Drifting freely unsure about
where the winds will bring us

Let us sleep my love
like a nest of newborn pups
Enjoying each others warmth
and dreaming of tomorrow

Let us love my Lore
like swans always do
Passionate but gentle
and loyal as can be

=====================

Lore in the last stanza is the name of the girl I love just so you know :)

Such a beautiful love poem, well worded and it flowed freely, my favourite line was the dancing like petals in the wind! Wow, such a powerful idea. Well done

Okay, I'm glad you said that about the last stanza because I was going to say it was a typo, haha. I like how you included her name in the last stanza, that's sweet and shows that it is truly dedication to her. I'm sure if she ever gets the chance to read it, she will love it.

I do think adding some punctuation would help this piece flow better. It gives the reader an idea where to pause and stop. When I see no punctuation, I read it too fast and get confused.

Overall, a really nice love poem. Great job, Thomas. :)
