Sleeping Giant

by Thomas   Apr 9, 2013

Sister,
the sun is rising.
Your enemies
are still marching.
Stupid minds
are still speaking.
Your shackles
are still hanging.

Sister,
the fight is still going.
Don't ignore
all this wrongdoing.
Put an end
to this sexist shooing.
Reveal what underneath
is merely looming.

Sister,
why do you keep sleeping?
Why are your allies
in a state of weeping?
Why are your insecurities
still creeping?

Sister,
throw of the chains.
Claim command,
take the reins.
Grab the lion,
cut his manes.

Your time is now.
History still wishes
it was still present.
