Volume 1 part 2

by Dev   Aug 22, 2012

There are some days when you just don't feel strong. Ever had that feeling no matter where you're at,
you feel like you don't belong? Seems like everyone has everything you lack. I used to feel this way, hide everything behind a smile and a laugh.
But now I'm starting to do things right, cause shortcuts only get you so far before you have to start from scratch. Now, I'm not saying I live the perfect life. It's that I'm finally noticing the light, at this end of the tunnel. Realizing there's always opportunities out of my struggles. I figured out that the people that aren't in your circle, are just the same as everyone else but just on different levels. No one seems to get a good grip on the truth, like seeing wind it feels unattainable. Cause instead of fighting for our happiness, we mimick what we see on the news. Focused more on the sexual instead of intellectual. Fear of falling, afraid to fly. Our way of venting is getting drunk and high. It's a dangerous world we live in; where people are afraid to express themselves, so they rather fit in. It's a shame we got less black men in college, and more in jail. As a society we loss courage and honor, not having anything to die for. Why be something you're not? It's a disgrace if you look at where we came from, our forefathers. If you think you don't have much, still appreciate what you have. Cause there are plenty of people who would kill to be where you stand. The key to success is utilizing our present, and learning from our past.

I think you need part 1:)

and also to try to edit the poem just so it won't have those symbols. It makes it hard to read this piece.
