How i wish this distance near...(Villanelle)

by Ş∂ņďħy∂   Jun 29, 2004

How I wish this distance near
To solve the puzzles which made us cove
And kill this silence, which I fear

Seven seas keep us apart, severe,
But couldn’t keep our hearts rove
How I wish this distance near

I hate this loneliness thickening, austere,
If only you took me in arms to relove,
And kill this silence, which I fear

Can’t stop feelings explode, which were,
Buried in heart like a treasured trove
How I wish this distance near…

Accidentally a day, if you appear
Our eyes will have a war of love
And kill this silence, which I fear

To gain your heart forever my dear
To give these love after you approve.
How I wish this distance near,
And kill this silence, which I fear.

/////A Villanelle is a nineteen-line poem consisting of a very specific rhyming scheme: aba aba aba aba aba abaa. The first and the third lines in the first stanza are repeated in alternating order throughout the poem, and appear together in the last couplet (last two lines)./////

This is a good villanelle. I'm still writing my villanelle. Have you seen a triolet, you may have already written one but I haven't finished going through them all. If you haven't have a look at mine, it's called "My Love I'll Give You Everything" - it's a nice format and rhyming scheme. Once again, great villanelle. I'm looking forward to reading more of your work...
