Unsinkable

by Emily   Sep 2, 2012

Slowly, slowly I make my grand entrance
The depths swirl beneath me,
I embrace the cold water
I am not afraid.
Surprisingly calm I take one last glimpse
At the silver slice of moonlight,
Suspended above me,
A poisoned dart
I tilted my head back
The water surrounds me,
Holding me,
Whispering,
Calling me in,
To join it, in its darkest depths.
I float along distantly dreaming,
Utter silence
The dead of night
No more clutter, no noise
Peace
Just the gentle lullaby of the waves
Calling me home,
I turn, and sink.
Unsinkable,
is what they said.
Now, look,
They were too late to save me
I twist and turn to my final resting place
Night becomes day
Deeper and deeper,
Darker and darker
Home....
