Freedom

by Emily   Oct 15, 2012

I'll take a breath
But only cause I'm forced to
I don't want to be here
So why hold me back?
You grabbing me, pulling me in
Keeping me between the lines when I want to be free

You're doing me more damage
Why can't you see?
I just want to be free
And fly upon that tree
I could be a little bird
Tweeting oh so sweet
Singing with the birds
And humming to the bees

And If I were a little bird
I would curl up and hide
In my cosy little nest
Hide away from all my problems
Put them all to rest

But then when winter comes
On a cold morning
I will take my flight
I'll fly up through the trees
I'll face my fears and take flight
And I'll sing to the birds and hum to the bees
I will be free
Suspended upon that tree
