Elk

by Timothy   Sep 2, 2012

Remind me of your summer gallop, Elk,
Jeering in the nick of time.
Nicking time.
Drunken tears you hide from the earth
Whilst hiding not the glass of a drink.
Cherry wine.
Fear not,
For you have all the time in the world, Elk,
And as you trail we breadcrumb be
Cherry-hearted and ever-graceful.

I assume that you have personified an 'elk' to show the character of the person you are talking about? I don't know, but this made me feel that it's about someone who drinks much and is not able to stop.

    Timothy-

I have always admired your poetry and this piece is another that makes me speechless. You have allowed my brain to freeze up with all of the angles I can go with this.. and I admire that! The Elk is a symbol for life I am assuming... and It just allows me to feel comforted in so many ways.... very nice!
