Fairy Tales.

by Jenn   Sep 3, 2012

Once upon a time, I learned a rhyme.
A melody so gruesome, heart wrenching but true some.
A story it told, no moral it holds.
For any.

Pied Piper played his flute so pure, soprano I'm sure.
Serenading the rats, clearing all Hamelins flats.
When the town was clean, there was no money to be seen.
And so all the children ended up in the river.

Sleeping beauty falls to prophet ed sleep never to wake again..
Along came the king could only think with his...Thing.
And got her pregnant..
Nine months later, a gentle baby's suckle brings her to life...
Only to be broken from strife.

Goldilocks sneaks into a cottage hungry for the smell inside.
porridge there was three bowls. One was too hot, the other too cold, one just right.
Laying down in the little bears bed, falling asleep after being so well fed
Now the bears are home, and you'll be ripped apart and eatin instead.

Brothers two, brothers Grimm.
Taking the filth and the dim
Making these tales
Truth society fails.

I've missed your writes, Jenn. Welcome back :)

I enjoyed your twist on the fairytales you incorporated in this piece. Instead of the usually love-themed stories and happy endings, you turned it around completely, which for me, made it all the more enthralling.

"And so all the children ended up in the
    river."
This line is so creepy and dark; it's stuck in my head. It's beautifully-written.

The "Thing" made me laugh :P

Hope to read more from you soon. Keep writing!
