Daddy.

by EmilyAnn   Sep 7, 2012

I remember it like it was yesterday,
When I was sitting on my daddies lap.
Telling me stories and jokes,
That would always make me laugh.

I remember when he used to comb my hair,
And put it up perfectly in a bun.
My childhood was never dull,
Daddy always made it fun.

I remember every Saturday,
We would grab our fishing poles.
Daddy would always put on the bait,
But I never caught a fish though.

I had the best times with my father,
When we were out by the sea.
Daddy never got my hopes up,
He always caught a fish for me.

He always knew the right things to do,
He always put a smile on my face.
Everywhere he would go... I went,
Cuddling in his arms was my favorite place.

I remember when daddy let me drive,
Down our driveway on a gravel road.
My hands on the wheel so tight,
As daddy pressed the gas to go.

My best memories in life,
Were by my daddies side.
There was something about him,
That always made him shine.

We were each others best friends,
We were each others world.
He was my hero,
I was his baby girl.

We always said "see you later",
Not once did we say goodbye.
He was there to make me smile,
When I had tears in my eyes.

He taught me how to ride my first bike,
Taught me how to tie my first pair of shoes.
He supported me since day one,
With everything I would do.

He was so loving, caring, gentle,
His heart was made of gold.
His hugs were so tight,
They never got old.

The day my daddy past,
I lost apart of me.
I have never felt so down,
And everyone could see.

No other man could ever be like him,
He was truly one of a kind.
I have the greatest father,
Who I am proud to call mine.

The day God took him away from me,
Not once did I say goodbye.
See you later dad... is what I said,
With tears in my eyes.

I know he is in a much better place,
I have another angel looking down on me.
My best friend, my world, my hero, my daddy,
The most amazing man I have ever seen.

Words can not describe how much I miss him,
But I know I will see him again.
I have been trying to keep a smile on my face,
Thinking about all the memories back then.

I think about my daddy daily,
He is always in my heart.
I feel like he is next to me,
Even though we are miles and miles apart.

Rip daddy.
