Silence Now

by Samuel Ernst   Sep 12, 2012

Silence now my little one,
Dream of the days of fun,
Both the past and those to be,
So now little child, come with me,

I'll show you a magic land,
Full of love, and a beach with sand,
Toys for you and all,
Anything you want at a call,

Come now child, I will take your pain,
I'll take the venom from your vain,
Your little heart pumps with fear,
Life so short, such a poor dear,

Take my hand and let us walk,
Smile now, no need to sulk,
For in this place you need not breath,
This magical place called death,

So short a life,
Yet so much strife,
I happily help you along in this time,
So now child, place your little hand in mine,

Do not worry about your mom and dad,
Yes, I know they are sad,
But they want you to enjoy the land of dead,
You playing and smiling stuck in there head,

So silence now little one,
Dream of the days of fun,
Those in the past and yet to be,
So now little child, come with me.

You'd be right Samuel, wow that's horrible I'm so sorry to hear that. This poem truly is a witness from the sorrows a heart continues to hold.

Wow this poem carries such an in depth message and journey between life and death.
I found the technique of having a similar repetition notion in the first and last stanza was a great element in luring the reader in at the start as well as illustrating with your words the direction this poem will take us. Then ending with a reflection of the beginning and ending it in a powerful way, it made me want to read more. It really is sad that their life was cut short but death takes anyone at anytime. I thought this poem was very well written even for such a touchy life experience.

Thank you, that means alot Andrew if I remember correctly. Fortunatly it was a home hitting life experiance, it was something that I just happened to wittness, and I guess I wanted something to say to the parents. A few years later, I came out with this.
