The Hardest Thing I've Ever Had To Say

by Ten Feet Tall   Jun 29, 2004

I always speak the truth,
Whatever's on my mind.
I don't care who listens,
Or who knows,
Or what they think.

But this was different,
The hardest thing I had to say.

First admit and say it to myself.
He is one of my best friends,
I shouldn't like him,
But I guess I do,
A lot.
I like him more than just a friend.

Then to another soul.
She asked me,
I danced around the idea,
I didn't want to admit it,
Because he is my friend,
But sooner rather than later,
I just said it,
And she laughed.

But then to him.
Yup, hasn't happened yet.
It probably never will.
It would be too hard to tell him,
That I think of him all the time,
And as more than a friend.
It would ruin what we already have,
A really good friendship.

That would be too hard to say,
The hardest.

  • Hey nice poem. I know it doesn't rhyme or it is not in any specific format.. I don't find it is necesary always. I enjoyed reading it. You expressed your true feelings. i guess. IF so...pretty, go and tell him what you have to tell...soon.. Its better than loosing a person forever..just because you didn't tell something in time.... This is a lesson i learnt from my own experiece . Just my 2 cents!
