Drama Queen

by MyHalozChokinMe   Oct 26, 2012

You put on this illusion that you wear
perfection around your neck.

You've perfected the accidentally beautiful look,
hoping no one will notice that you are nothing.

Without your false tragedy, without your terribly
sad alibi, your picket-fence teeth turn
to shards of glass.

Your smooth, glowing skin turns pale and translucent.

The sparkle in your eyes turns to wrath and hatred.

You are not the simplistic, loving person you attempt to convince us that you are...

Without your faucet-born tears and romance-novel lies,
your dynasty of innocence and forgiveness crashes.

Awesome. The first image I had of those who buy really cheap "fake" jewellery and think that no one will know. They think by showing off this "gold or bling" they will seem powerful and perfect cos they have money etc etc etc... grrrr.

This whole poem is great because there are so many people like this not in our own lives but just int he world in general and in reality they are nothing more than what they are - it doesnt matter how you try and dress it up, materials dont mean nothing to who you are as a person.

Good venting poem I feel :)

    Ah!!

Yes, I know someone like this. It must be a sad life ... I like the power in your words and how smooth this sounds. You sound like you really know what you are talking which is what makes this piece powerful.

Drama queens... Can't be happy it seems unless the drama is there.
