Burning Bridges

by Bryan A Maki   Nov 1, 2012

Walking down this road
Alone as Can Be
My life is bestowed
By the burning flames of reality

On this Dark night
I seem to rage
When nothing goes right
Even though I'm only on the second page

I turn away all of my loved ones
to protect myself
from getting hurt by that someone

It's easier this way so no one gets hurt
But now I'm all alone
and sometimes I wish I weren't

It's all over now everyone is gone
I'm here by myself
and now nothing can go wrong

This definitely seems like a poem from the heart... very deep. It's tragic and definitely heart-tugging.

"By the burning flames of reality"
    Definitely my favorite line.

This is an extremely easy piece to relate to... fantastic.

    I love it, truly do. :) 5/5
