Calm Before The Storm

by Ridge   Nov 2, 2012

Hello, hello, is someone listening ?
Hello, hello, is someone listening ?

I hear scratching at my window
I drift in the spiral of insanity
It chases me in my sleep
It aches through my bones

Upon the billion-blooded sea
I pass upon inward-breaking shoals
Rimmed with white-bellied rotting creatures
Temporary dead against surrounding sense

All night long, struggling alone
It's the calm before the storm

I sing, I sing my story, will someone hurry ?
Memories pass me by rash as wind
Abstract pains reanimate my mind
It shadows every single breath

Help me, Help me wantonly
The vision is blurred by the mystic moon
None of this real, tell me it's virtuality
There's a beast waiting silently

I dance, I dance to the thrumming strings
The cyprus scent mingles with the ochre sky
A light drew a rabid storm
A gothic shaped pale mourner

All night long, struggling alone
It's the calm before the storm

The haunting feeling outlines stillborn futures
I lay extra still, coiled like a spring
The ghosts whisper twilight horrors
The leaves are dead, the night prevailed

I melt in a picture in the middle of perishing flowers
Stripped of my favorite color
A bough of fruit lands on your dark garment
My grief falls flat and hollow

All night long, struggling alone
It's the calm before the storm
