Cut Free

by Ridge   Nov 3, 2012

I'm cut free, from the world, from you
My heart is plundered deep

It's more than you know
while I reap what you sow

The shattering burst, the slow desecration of my mind
Laid on my bed where only there I can recline

I'm fed from my expectations and fuel for desire
I guess I peaked foolishly like capturing a Lyre

Am I staving off the need with the drinks of reason and restraint ?
Should I start considering slapping my face ?

You have the smile that incarnates love
You whisper songs proclaiming trust

My fragile beating heart is left alone
