Giving up

by Love Hurts   Nov 11, 2012

I give up trying to be everything you want me to be.
You are never pleased.
The frown seems permanently etched on you face.
Jeez, you can be a disgrace!
I know the lord wishes me to love you,
and I do.
But the love of a lover faded long ago.
Now all you are is a brother in Christ.
My heart shattered to forgotten pieces
when you said 'no'
Now you don't wish me to go?
My gosh, you are confusing!
Make up your mind.
Soon I shall leave, oh never mind.
It's not like you'd care, you selfish guy.
No matter how much I wish you would try.
I found a slice of heaven,
in your fake love.
Those pale blue eyes held such believing concern.
Ha! Now see the real you.
Those love tinted words and honey sweet kisses
were all only a lie.
But I ain't gonna die.
I'll live through this pain,
if you'd just quit your game!
You never loved me,
now I don't love you.
So just give up already,
that's what I had to do.
