Lest we forget!

by A Poets Handwriting aka ALISHA   Nov 13, 2012

The colour of the rose of love,
marks a day of remembrance.
Bells chime, as the clock ticks:
Lest we forget!

Green camo, muddy boots,
trenches dug deep, and
guns firing as death surrounds;
Lest we forget!

A red poppy worn upon breast
as we bow our heads in silence;
remember our brave soldiers.
Lest we forget!

    I loved this poem not just for the military reference.
    This poem really hit home for me being in the military.
    The third stanza really touched my heart. Thank you for reminding us all. 5/5
