Marvellous piece Amreen!!! Sometimes we feel expectations as a mirage in a desert for those who feel thirsty and would if their wishes become true but how dissapointed when they find them just a myth. We have an Arabic saying "winds come with what the ships don't crave". This is, however, right except for those who have a perfect trust and believe in God and as a result get totally prepared for such moments.
Passing through your poem I found the line before the last most attractive and funny at the same time "it withers away quickly with just a prick" as if someone is happy having a large balloon but become nothing besides a pin prick. Awesome write Amreen.

Such a beautiful metaphor you've crafted here!
It made me think how much expectations are truly like a bubble.

    well done 5/5

This is so profound and sounded blissful to the ears when read. I loved how you kept repeating the 1st line, it added a degree of poetic beauty. The message that it entails is so beautifully conveyed. The 1st and 3rd depict optimism while the 2nd and 4th depict pessimism.
I like your choice of words, they portrayed the essence of life in the poem. How you incorporated the bubbles, candles and nature to the piece is done exquisitely.

Life is shrouded in positive and negative hues. Our actions determine our dreams thus purpose in life. We need to lay out our objectives so that we can follow our dreams to fruition. However in life, trials and tribulations change the course of our destiny. Halting every possible oppurnities we're persuing. In such cases a staunch faith is needed to persevere through trying times.
God says after every trial, ease sufaces. So let's imbue the spirit of faith, patience to help one determining the course of events easily. Life is beautiful. We just have to cradle our existence with a glow of positive goals and will to endure all that one is thrown at in our lives.

As usual of you sister, your messages are always a reminder to one about lives ways in different aspects.
Wonderful read and can't wait for the next one.
    Blessing to you..

I really enjoyed this..and I'm not usually a fan of rhyming poetry as of late..you've made me recall why I used to adore it so much.

I found I liked how you use delight in the second line, but false hope in the third..it was such a quick transistion from good to bad that I had to read it twice for my thoughts to catch up and found I loved it even more.

My favourite part here was the closing lines..throughout you've managed to keep such an even pace emotion wise and until the closing lines I'm unsure if I should be feeling happy or sad at your words and then the last lines hit me hard..it's too true how often we ecxpect things from others and then only end up being let down, and you capture that wonderfully here.

Some prefer to be a dreamer, others are realists...somewhere in the middle is where we should reside, I feel:)

    Well done, Amreen!

    "Expectations are like a bubble,
    rising high and high,
it shimmers more by every moment
giving a promise, full of lie..
    Expectations are like a bubble,
it builds a dream of myth
that it would etch happiness in our soul
making the candles of trust to be brightly lit..
    Expectations are like a bubble,
we don't know its nature being fragile,
it withers away quickly with just a prick
    gifting me a lonely smile.."
These concluding lines summarize the poem well!
How true...we expect so much...but most of our expectations end in nothingness...!

The bubble could pop at any momment. I love how you compare the two! It's so sadly true though. I have about stopped blowing bubbles of expectations. Let what happens happen. Great piece, I really like it. =)
