Pets of the Ents (string Haynaku)

by Larry Chamberlin   Nov 17, 2012

Tromping
through woods
found peace unexpected

Clearing
circular embrace
hugged by oaks

Centered
without weeds
patch of primroses

Guarded
by giants
smiling tree tops.

Example three: The Haynaku was invented in the 21st Century by Eileen Tabios; it is a tercet of six words: the first line has one word, the second line has two words and the final line has three words. Rhyme, meter and syllable count are all in the discretion of the author.

I really like this form and I like how you wrote this. I like how the first word of each haynaku is a verb and ends in "ing" in the first two, then "ed" in the second. It was a nice touch to the structure. The last haynaku was my favorite!

    Great job :)
