Black and White

by HisCountryGirl   Dec 1, 2012

You got to love, the older you get the more
You seem to ask for the immpossible,
Almost as if the last bit of child
In us is clinging to the hope that
Santa truly exists and will save us all with
Wonderous Christmas Magic.
News flach, wake up kid, reality is no longer
"Imagination" land. Bad things
Happen to those who act as Christians
Should, while horrid people get away
With crimes against humanity
That would make your blood run cold. All
Gleam of shining innocence, if any was left, drains
From your eyes.
All happiness fades and we slowly lose our self
In mindless shadows of who we used to be.
We simply slip into the shady oblivion of
Adulthood and all at once it hits us with
A hard slap. We realize life is not just
Black and White, as it was painted by
Life's mentors, but, oh so many shades of Gray.

Oh Mercy Mrs JDC.... this was a powerful write.. you started this piece out with such elegance and then you switch it to the harsh and bitter reality of the world and in life... I love this ... heart gripping message you have penned here !!
