Dear Daddy

by Lauren Lee   Jun 30, 2004

Dear Daddy,
I remember the day you told me
I think I had just turned three
You looked me in the eyes
Sat me on your knee
And said I could be anything I wanted to be.
You taught me to be independent and strong.
You said to stand up for things that I know are wrong.
You said to be respectful
But to always stand on guard
You said you knew I'd be a star

Dear Daddy,
You encourage me day by day
To be all that I can be
And I hope to make you proud someday
So please don't ever go away.
I know you want what's best for me
And I know its cuz you care
But being a teen isn't an easy thing
And sometimes it's not always fair.
But just know I try my hardest
Even when my minds in a whirl
And know I'm forever and always
Daddy's little girl
