Isolated

by MyHalozChokinMe   Dec 10, 2012

Loneliness,
so strange-

When it seems so rare to
have a moment to myself...

My days awash with a sea of faces,
each one, another responsibility.

I freely give what society
requires of me, spending out
pieces of myself until my
resources are depleted.

Each day, so much like the last.

Hypnotic.

I am lulled until I finally
sleep, and awaken alone.

My mind plays back for me,
the gray details, leaving
me unfulfilled.

Tired cognizance attempts to
pass the distance between
you and me...

I imagine your sleeping form,
moved only by your breathing.

My hearts fingers squeezed
knuckle bone-white and my
eyes are pulled to the ceiling.

Isolated tears leave their
saline tracks across my cheeks
as I evaluate what is left of me-

A guilded cage that I work
at everyday to sustain...

This piece was absolutely amazing. Sad, yet beautiful. It really wowed me when I read it the first time, and did so again when I read it just now. Great Job!! :)
