Visible (Pt.4)

by Blood of a Lion   Dec 15, 2012

Its not so much fun now is it?
Running, is never much fun.
Blood was running down his gut,
Mud was splashed over his body,
Forming an outline of more than just his manhood.
Invisible hairs now matted with mud.
Toes and belly and all the finer things.
The blood was just an annoyance.
But it was there.
His body had failed him,
His arms not quite strong enough.
And so he ran.
Dogs barking,
Bloodhounds by the sound.
Braying loudly, almost painfully it would seem.
Not yet dear Lord...
Not yet.
Branches snapping underfoot,
Torches to his side, and to his ass.
Buckshot went off,
Scattering pellets in a spray,
And without a word he was knocked to his knees.
But he did not yell.
Not yet.
The madness returned,
Followed by rage,
And with no less of a forethought he was raised.
He ran forward,
Even faster than before.
A man, suddenly bewildered stood in his path,
And with a violence he bounded off,
Cracking his fist with his weight,
And spinning the head a-bout face.
Not yet...

So, I read parts 1-4 and I like this one the most. It's quite different. The short sentences made the tone darker and more fast-paced. It's really fitting, and I enjoyed reading it. I hope you do more. :)
