Trapped By Rules

by Baby Rainbow   Dec 16, 2012

All my life I have came across brick walls
which obstruct my destination.
Rules and boundaries were set in place
to keep my secrets silent.
My youthful mind once thought,
that once these secrets were out, the
walls would come crumbling down,
but my hopeful heart was crushed again
once my secrets were revealed.
Some brick walls were taken
down but they were merely shading
rows of new walls.
Each time I would run into another,
my heart shattered like a fragile vase.
I learned that to protect myself
I would build my own metal walls.
Surrounded by this solid cage,
no boundaries inside.
But four metal walls cannot be torn apart
and cannot be hammered down.

So now what am I supposed to do,
when I want to be with you?
