A Stranger's Smile

by Baby Rainbow   Dec 16, 2012

There is a person who's path I've crossed
although I doubt she has noticed me.
Sometimes she will send a smile
and I contagiously smile back.
The truth is she has no idea
of what her smile really means.
I begin to miss her when she's not there
and my mouth refuses to smile.
I cannot believe what a difference she makes
and of this she is still unaware.
I often wish I could make her see
how she brightens my heart inside.
But why would she even care
about the stranger passing by?
And every time she looks at me
my heart releases tears
because as quickly as we say hello
it's followed with goodbye.

    The simplicity of polite acknowledgement...
"I'm not invisible after all"... Means more than most will ever know.

I really love this write saffie... Into the favourites :)

The lines that poked me in the eyes...

"There is a person who's path I've crossed
although I doubt she has noticed me."

^^ Although your stating your opinion in these lines...
I see hopeful wrapped within, as you stated "crossed" path...
A cross is the symbol of faith...
So I read these lines as you hoped to see her again.

"I often wish I could make her see
how she brightens my heart inside.
But why would she even care
    about the stranger passing by?"

^^ I believe an intriguing heart will always be left touched...
Maybe you have the same effect on her, but as you're strangers; her smile is a silent thank you??

"And everytime she looks at me
    my heart releases tears
because as quickly as we say hello
    it's followed with goodbye."

^^ these lines are very sad, as the hello turns on the light to brighten your day... Yet its short lived and turned off with goodbye.

    Great write missy,

    Keep smiling <3
