Kayliegh Jean

by Chelsey   Dec 17, 2012

For a little down syndrome girl who has touched my heart deeply**

Kayliegh Jean, your middle name should be endless
with words like angelic, endearing, precious, giving
because you are the sweetest, charming, and most
vibrant spirit I've ever had the pleasure to be around.

Your smile should be projected in the clouds
because you could teach people how to love
with it. You could transform evil hearts into
pure ones. You don't understand that your
smile could cast away the rain forever.

When I hold you in my arms and your little
legs wrap around my back, I wish I could
wear you like a sweater daily because the
power in your hugs is enough to keep me
happy when I've lost all strength to do so.

Kayliegh Jean, your energy, your laugh,
your kisses, cannot greet me in the
morning, but they do in my mind and
just thinking of you brings joy unto my
weary days. Unto my saddest times.

All that's left to say is, I wish I was more
like you and I'm grateful for meeting
you because my life has been impacted
by watching you love life and all
of those you come in contact with.

Wow! What a beautiful tribute to this lovely girl. This poem is so beautiful, so special, and it really touched my heart. I love everything about this poem... I love you started it with her name, so simple, yet you're showing the reading who this poem is about from the very start, and how you describe her as an angel and other sweet words. It was just so sweet and sincere. I can't pick a favorite part. She sounds like an amazing person! I'm sure she loved this poem when you showed it to her!

Great job with this touching poem <3

Chelsey, this is a precious write, Children can melt our hearts so easily, but these children with downs syndrome, children with disabilities are the brightest little lights because they keep smiling, keep going through what they do with the biggest of hearts and the toughest of spirits.

You have penned a piece that just brought a smile to my lips, brought a little light into my heart and I can see how special this little girl is...
