Ran Into An Old Friend The Other Day

Ran Into An Old Friend the Other Day

I ran into an old friend the other day,
"My God what has happened to you?"
I thought I heard their voice say,
"Is that a new Tattoo?"

It was like a Blast from the Past,
My mind searching but I couldn't place the Face.
They stared back at me aghast!
Still who is that? My mind misplace.

"You used to be so Youthful, so innocent and Young,"
The epitome of Virtue.
Now you're just No Fun!
Just stand there staring like a statue.

You used to love hiking and camping,
Were into animals and Nature.
Now All your time chasing Money and Working,
Stuck in the city instead of the Pasture.

As I peer in the mirror it's all coming back,
That stranger's familiar like Deja vu.
Time Marches on It's a Fact,
That Stranger is You ....
