Velcro

by Baby Rainbow   Jan 16, 2013

You hold me so much tighter
when I'm trying to push you away.
You are like a piece of sticky Velcro
which I can't peel myself from.
It seems that there can be no distance
that can separate our love.
So no matter how far I run from you
you are still there by my side.
But still I cannot keep you near,
I have to let you go.
I have to cut the Velcro off
but it's embedded in my heart.
The pain is so excruciating
as the scissors snip through my tissue.
The route of my heart
which kept me alive
has just been sliced away.
But I done this to protect you
and to stop you
from being so close to me.
