Sing For Me

by MyHalozChokinMe   Feb 1, 2013

This world echoes in the absence of brightness.
The stars don't shine enough, the moon fades
behind the sun, and all that's left are shades
of black to comfort my touched up scars.
The glow of your love cannot reach me
here, within my hallucinations of yearning
for you. With the night comes the nightingale,
or so I am told. I long for a song that
will make me whole for a while.

Sing for me, please sing for me.

The night blushes all too soon.
The day is too strong, I need
the peace of obscurity, I need
strength to face this world.

My soul convoluted with pain,
memories of the palaver of
our bodies entwined appear
in the form of music, in
the form of darkness.

Sing for me, please sing for me.

This succubus is too much.
I need something to make it through
the harsh revival of morning.

But, I'll float past another day, waiting for
the moment our hearts beat together
again, in tandem rhythms-

My nightingale-

Sing for me, please sing for me.

"This world echoes in the absence of brightnesss"

^I will carry this line with me. This line holds so much weight, especially nowadays in this world...my world.

The thought of the nightingale has always been a peaceful one, that one with a song to cut down darkness with extreme prejudice.

How does one cope with the loss of a great love, one who keeps the draining nightmares at bay...
I loved the use of succubus, it really hit the nail on the head. But what I loved most about this poem, is that little spark of hope or light. Which leads me to believe the nightingales previous song hasn't completely vanished.

    -I've greatly missed your writings
