Trespassers

by Baby Rainbow   Feb 2, 2013

Unwanted intruders suddenly trespass
across the gardens of my mind.
Trampling over my fragile flowers,
stomping them into the dirt.
Heavy footprints imprinted on the grass
as a stamp of territory that they now claim.
Leaving the gates unbolted, making it
a free-zone for more intruders to gather.
Unlocking the padlock of the wooden shed,
releasing forgotten prisoners who join
the witch-hunt for the treasure.
Searching my heart for the buried pain
they are desperate to dig up.
Craving my salty tears, as one by one
these intruders pull them from my eyes.
Trespassing through the gardens of my mind
I have become imprisoned
by the thoughts I do not want.

The brain can harbor thoughts that affect you in so many ways... Its makes you feel violated... this piece truly is one that I can relate to... very heart gripping!
