Good in Goodbye

by Daylight Lucidity   Feb 22, 2013

Light slips away from my withering grasp,
I fade into the darkness I hold dear,
I know I should whisper my goodbye so clear
But I ask myself, "Am I really up to the task?"
I loved you completely, I gave you my all
You played with my heart, you used my love
Hysterical laughter poured from such lips as I had fallen
And of your love's abusive linger, I've certainly felt enough.
Witness our flower, forlorn and dried
It floats to the ground, burned by lies
For the first time in three months, so long,
I smile genuinely, I know where I belong.
Notice how the moonlight cascades delicately from the sky
See, I know now I belong there
Not with you, no longer will I try
To see why I can't be yours, why I feel it isn't fair.
Why, dearest stranger I loved, would I change
For a person who broke me, from you I shall be estranged
Goodbye, heartless one,
Enjoy your life swallowed by your betrayal,
Now I found the good in goodbye.
