Tale of Romance Past

by Daylight Lucidity   Mar 9, 2013

Alone and frightened to her wit's end
Broken she lays upon the wooden floor
Tears of blood streak her face red
Insanity ruthlessly claims her mind
While she spins into the darkness' eternal lore
Wisdom within its teachings of yore
Engulfing her mind in flaming torture and gore.

Whisked away from reality's sanctity
Engulfing her mind in love never felt
Entombing her heart in bloody wounds
Through years of heartbreaks past dealt
Into the fire and eternal damnation she melts
Through the cracks of her withering sanity's pelt
Lying in scalding hate she lovelessly dwelt.

Awaiting for the moment she shall die
Insanity is welcomed as she lies in sorrow
She cries, oh how her anguish filled cries fill the shadows,
Heart wrenching and full of remorse
Her chest is dusted with webs and horridly hollow
As her lover left her laced with pain so incredibly thorough
Deep into the blackened abyss she burrows.

Flowing through the night's beckoning black
Swept away as she follows her trail of pain
Screaming in grotesque agony, hysterical laughter bubbles through pale lips
Again she weeps blood, her sanity slain,
While poison flows through her delicate veins
Death greets her upon the step of his door, her eternal soul he detains
Fed from her blood, her life gone, he releases her chains.

Upon the reaper's floor she wallows in despair
She never wished for Death to succumb to her call
The never ending sadness she knows she cannot bear
She wanted to recall the tale of romance past,
Now she can but only be lost in prayer
Amongst the demons within her insanity beware
For she can only, in absolute horror, stare.

She lies cold in Death's bed
Her death, ill fated and quiet
Her tears still stain, all is silent
Smirking and laughing
He watches her body, stiff and alone
His eyes glance at her shattered diamond
Regret missing from his withered heart idled
And the tale of romance past is now silenced.
