As I cry I run
Out the door and
Far from this place,
Coming to rest on
My knees in the
Middle of a field
Of golden grass.
The bright sun beats
Down, kissing my
Cold skin with her
Warm rays of love.
The soft golden tendrils
Of grass caress my
Arms, legs, and face,
Wiping away the tears
Of pain and sadness.
As I lay in
The midst of the
Soft grass, the
Spirits of the
Trees whisper small
Words of comfort
And kindness to
Ease the ache
In my heart.
The blue sky above
Watches over me
Like a wolf
Over its pup.
The earth below
Cradles me like
A mother to
Her bosom.
Taking a deep
Breath of the warm
Summer air around me,
I smell the sweet
Scent of the sun-
Warmed grass that
Surrounds me. I
Smell the pleasant
Odor of the trees
Standing nearby.
I smell the
Musty but
Not unpleasant
Smell of the animals
That live here.
I look up at
The blue sky
And the sun
Smiling on me,
Look around at
The grass
Holding me and
The trees standing
Guard around me,
And I think to
Myself,
"Finally,
I am home."
