Stormy Skies

by Club Moonlight Muses   Mar 13, 2013

Stormy skies gather, howling wind echoes
Leaves rustle and dance,
her feet can't carry her fast enough
shallow breaths, rising heartbeat
flash of light reflects off her eyes
ground shakes from powerful strikes

Stumbling, tripping; falling
searching for escape
The door that never opens, shuts
her from seeking warm embrace.
darkened, suffocating arms
haunt her until every tick she hears
is the breaking of daylight's certainty.

and she whimpers, mumbles, constantly
she pleads for death to throw her down
- a merciful sentence, that's all she sees.

I didn't even see this posted 'til now, thanks for putting this up! I'm really happy we all did a collab and made those few lines flow into the next--- especially with that last line, there is such a dread of what's to come.
