How can one know?

How can one feel so much joy,
when deep inside there's so much pain?
Years of lies and hurts so long ingrained.

How can one hide their emotions,
when it hangs right on their sleeve?
and have enough strenghth to still believe?

How can one know that they are loved,
when it was never said?
when all they wanted was to be dead.

Thet know because they've seen the light,
they've felt the touch of his hand,
heard his voice in the wind,
and felt his love in their heart.

Though they can't see him,
they know he's there.
and most of all,
they know he cares.
