The Dark Jester Is Born

by Titus   Mar 20, 2013

In the dark nights,
I hear him creep.
He knows not words.
His cuts go deep.

In time of depression;
In time of pain,
He searches your soul.
You go insane.

He eats yours life,
And your fears.
His drink is blood,
And your tears.

He's what you are,
Not what you think.
His shrill laugh hightens
The deeper you sink.

Forget the light
That you'll never see.
You're in his chains,
Never to be free.

In the past
You smiled in cheer.
Now's not then,
You cowar in fear.

Where he comes from,
No one knows.
He is born from pain.
With lies, he grows.

    @.@!!!

    " In the dark nights,
    I hear him creep.
    He knows not words.
    His cuts go deep."

^^ strong dark opening stanza, it has vivid imagery of fear and pain... deep and personal.

    "He's what you are,
    Not what you think.
    His shrill laugh heightens
    The deeper you sink."

^^ my favourite stanza... I had the imagery of being kicked whilst your down.

I love dark writes... I stayed away from rhyming poetry for a while but I find myself rekindling a love for it...

    Into my favourites,
    Well penned :)
