The forest

by rachael   Mar 21, 2013

When she enters
into the woods,
the world outside
dissolves
She feels it start
to fade
as she ventures
deeper into the forest,
finding that familiar comfort
of the trees.
She is home here,
free from herself,
doubt and the world
outside so determined
to destroy her.
She belongs here,
in the woods,
free from her cage.
Hope, dreams
and happiness
find her here again.

A poem about an animal? I think you just gave a beautiful description of freedom, whatever "She" is. Good imagery, simplicity and beauty!

    Keep writing! :)
