Odds

by Thomas   Mar 30, 2013

Time is moving forward
but we are not.
Hide and seek
without being sought.
Keep it fresh
or let it rot.

The odds are
rarely very clear.
But they go up
every time you're near.
Your direction
is where I'll steer.
It's cause I love you
my dear.

The reasons why
are always in doubt.
In our heads
the battle is fought.
Causing so much noise
and getting too loud.

The odds are
rarely very clear.
But they go up
every time you're near.
Your direction
is where I'll steer.
It's cause I love you
my dear.

Caught by life
is what we are.
Unsure if I'm shooting short
or very far.
But hey, they say
love is a war.

The odds are
rarely very clear.
But they go up
every time you're near.
Your direction
is where I'll steer.
It's cause I love you
my dear.

So fight on
is what I think.
Conquer the sea
or drown and sink.
Love and war,
it's the one true link.

The odds are
rarely very clear.
But they go up
every time you're near.
Losing you
is what I fear.
It's cause I love you
my dear.

    - change "is" in the second line to "are"

Excellent poem, the repetition made this really work and the flow was short and fast like a song. I got a little rhythm going while reading this.

    Very powerful words Thomas.
