Not Your Sun

I woke up this morning feeling bright as the sun,
I was ready to take on the world. My confidence
seemed on high alert and my anxiety was gone.

The darkness tried to creep inside but the sunshine
blinded its eyes. There was nothing stopping me today,
for I was as bright as the sun.

But I did not expect the sun to frown when it
looked into my eyes. Without speaking a word,
I could hear its anger and its disappointment in me.

I pondered over what I could have done, so
I could learn from my mistakes. I came to
realise that my biggest mistake,

was simply being me.

I should have known better than to believe
the sun could ever be a part of me, to think I
could have been so bright and shone with all that power.

A lesson learned,
a lesson stored,
a lesson now engraved inside my mind:

"When the sun is shining in the sky
remember its brightness is not for you!"

    This really tore at me Saffie, it started out optimistic and then that sadness just overtook the sun, and I have to admit, I had tears, and I couldn't stop them.

    Darl, You are worthy of sun, and that sun does shine for you, the darkness comes into our lives and our biggest test of strength is pushing it away, but you can do it, I know you can, I want that sun to shine on you, because you deserve it. Don't ever think that who you are isn't the person you should be, be proud of yourself, you're a beautiful heart, a talented writer, a great friend, we have flaws and make mistakes but no one should ever stop you from being yourself...

    No no no Saffie my sweet... do not let that black cloud back in .... there is not a thing wrong with my little cuddler, you ARE sunshine, you are a kind hearted young lady, beautiful inside and out and you have the power Saffie, the power to kick that damn black cloud to oblivian and let the sun shine all the time!! This is another emotional and sad write...

    Will there be a rainbow without the sun rays?
    Hmmmm I dont think so, and why does the sun shine?
    It shines for you, us, and for everyone!!!
    Sun is life if there was no sun there will be no life, abd when we wake up everyday arent we ourselves? At least smile and shine for yourself.
    And Im sure many love you for who you are, I dont think the sun frowned because of you.

    This is a really heartfelt poem, great job Saffie:)
