Strange Visions

by NightFlyer   Apr 7, 2013

The desolate graveyards of yesterday's tears
Are lying below me in wilderness clears
The pale spectral faces that wait behind doors
They gather before me o'er bleak granite floors
These ghosts of my nightmares drift silently on
As this tempest rages so long before dawn
The midnight's dark voices in hallways, resound
As I feel the presence of spirits earthbound
Night whispers, they're calling, as strange as it seems
These voices enthralling in ominous dreams
Strange visions I'm knowing, so ghostly, congeal
In Luna's bright glowing o'er landscapes surreal.

The desolate graveyards of yesterday's tears

^^I like this opening for it sets the mood of a cold and silent atmosphere!

The pale spectral faces that wait behind doors
They gather before me o'er bleak granite floors

^^An eerie image comes to my mind reading this for I can visualize the dead stepping out of their resting place and spying on us.

These ghosts of my nightmares drift silently on
As this tempest rages so long before dawn
The midnight's dark voices in hallways, resound
As I feel the presence of spirits earthbound

^^Another chilling image these lines draw in my mind and it is as if I'm watching a horror movie.

All in all a very haunting poem that makes everything seem so real..excellent!

Well, still better than most of what I read here, but:
-for such a theme,it lacks subtlety. It could be much more effective.
-a bit cliched. Not really serious, you can get over it by time.
    Otherwise,it was kind of fun.

I like what I saw and the atmosphere in this piece.

It has a haunting atmosphere and I thought about ghost when I was reading this poem. I love the rhymes, they were done very well.
