Realization

Looking left, looking right
All I see is a light
That is oh so bright.

I look up into this mans eyes
Asking him "is this what it's like to die?"
Then he shows me my friends cry.

Seeing their tears
Suddenly brings back fears
Left hidden all these years.

I drop the knife from my chest
As blood drips from my breast
Cutting just to get some rest.

I'd forgotten those who love
Me, and I decided to just shove
Them all away from the "innocent" dove.

Whoever said to go die
Was wrong as I lay here and cry
Coming off of the cutting high.

I'm sorry for all the pain I've caused
Because upon travelling this road I've become so lost
And I guess it's time I knew the cost.
