Emotions

by bob   Apr 22, 2013

Fear is a very important emotion
However it is mostly misunderstood
Everyone on earth should have it
Although most will say that it can do no good

But once again most people are mistaken
And if you read on I will tell you why
Not everyone will agree with what I'm saying
But to you I would never tell a lie

Fear is how we really know what is important
It's how we really know the love we feel is real
When the thought of losing something that we care for
Cuts through your heart just like a blade of steel

The problem is that fear is a very shy emotion
It slinks around and does not like to be exposed
So it hides behind helplessness, despair and anger
The emotions that get mixed and then transposed

So understand when someone close is fearful
The answer may not be so black and white
Just know their fear exists because they love you
Even if their actions may not seem to be just right

You make an interesting point with this piece but the rhymes feel abit forced and this damaged your flow quite a bit. The word choice was interesting however it didnt quite do the message much justice. Your perspective and meaning were well written and really set this piece apart from many others. It just seems like this holds more potential than is shown.

All in all a very decent write

Thanks for your comments - I wrote it for a friend of mine - she wanted to donate part of her liver to a distant relative and her husband didn't want her to - he was afraid she would not survive the operation and was acting crazy - even threatened the doctor. They almost divorced but another donor came forward that was a better match and things calmed down.
