Christian

by Chloe Porter   Apr 29, 2013

I am a Christian and I am not afraid to admit this
So you see even when you mock my religion
I will look you in the face and laugh out loud
Because I am proud to be a Christian

Don't come near me if you want to tell me God isn't real
Because I am awaiting Jesus's return to the mortal land
And when he does and he will
I will take him by his holy pure and religious hand

When I am happy and dead in heaven
I will pity you and your mockery of my religion
For I love the Lord and he loves me
And I am still proud to be Christian

When I feel the sorrow for you that is in you
I will try not to show it
But I will spread the Lord's holy words
And try to change your mind a bit

Anyone who doesn't believe can never be truly happy
But I am sure you think that I am a big fat liar
But when I will be dead in heaven
I will never really truly expire

My soul will live on forever as does his
Because I am Christian and I do believe
So when you believe the truth
You will then be able to see

So why don't you stop and listen
To my friendly pleas
Because I know God created everything
From the you and I to the trees

When the nightfall falls on you
And you don't have any hope left
Turn to the Lord's direction
And all your problems will be addressed

So when you see a church nearby
Pop in and perhaps stay the whole time
Because truly God loves you
And your life will be fine.

"when I'm happy and dead in heaven.." is an epic line.I could sit and ponder that line for quite some time.you may not have intended it but those seemingly opposing images of heaven and the grave, land of the dead..my dead body brought together in that line have piqued my interest.
