I didn't used to have a sweet tooth

by Emma   May 13, 2013

I didn't used to have a sweet tooth
Content with carrots and red meat
But suddenly cherry pie and
Hershey's Kisses seduce me
The mysterious allure of honey
ignites a reluctant curiosity

A tongue coated in sugar
must feel beautiful

Marshmallow snowballs
and strawberry jello
invade my mind
relentlessly

I didn't used to have a sweet tooth--
But I'll embrace it
I won't give up salt--
But I'll admit it doesn't taste as good
off my fingers
