Let Go

by Ducky   May 19, 2013

A sigh lets go, beneath a meaningless sky
She lies awake, her faith slowly slipping away.
She feels the dew forming on the grass beneath her bare body.
Closing her eyes, she sinks further into her dreamland.

"Take me away", she whispers into the night,
And as if it heard her, the wind softly blows,
Caressing her pale skin.
She shudders as if it was the first time she'd ever been touched.
She had never felt anything like this before.

She focuses on the moon in the unusually starless firmament.
Fading away into the night.
An unnerving silence approaches.
She's alone.

Her existence has become irrelevant,
and now she can finally let go
and live peacefully in a world of her own.
