Pain Too Real

by Andrew Packard   Jun 1, 2013

She cries and cries; she tries,
But she can't stop her sobbing eyes.
Living in the past,
Wishing her agony wouldn't last.

No way to shut off the valve,
of tears.
Like new open wounds,
after all those years.

If my eyes can't see you again ever,
I'll press them against;
the muzzle of this double-barrel
shot gun...
And with my toe pull the trigger.

    Wow, I really felt drawn into this. I like how your poems always sound like they could easily be lyrics, I straight away seem to pick up a beat and start almost rapping them in my head rather than read them. Maybe it is just me but I do not seem to do this often but when I come to yours I do?

    I really liked the expression of deep pain here and a little cryptic story of characters but not much detail about them, more detail of the pain itself.

    Well done.

      Thanks so much! I do believe poetry is a dance, a song.
