You killed love

by The Po whet   Jun 4, 2013

I painted a colorful picture of you,
and of our envied love.
I said I loved only you,
you believed me and so did the world.
I wish I knew;
that I had lost you,
the moment I found you .
now I continue
this Shakespeare's curse ;
of making the world believe there's love,
yet all the romancing ends in damnation tragedies.
please take me back in time,
on that unfortunate day
my last happy day.
was it a "yes " or a "jest "?
no! maybe it's just a dream
maybe it's just me.
Cupid took with him his arrow
and
the pied piper stopped playing our song.
my heart is now a cave,
a desert encroached with sadness and miseries
and on its sands lays
love whom you slain
in a pool of blood.

    Again another brilliant piece by you.

    I love the line 'i wish I knew I'd lost you the moment I found you.' Now wouldn't that be good to save all the heartache?

    Take care,Em

    Beautiful illustration throughout this poem. You really painted a picture for the reader where it is very simple to create the imagery within this poem. I loved your use of vocabulary and the different metaphors you used to explain love and loss. Well written.
