Friends Forever

I was nothing more than
Small town girl who's life
Was a complete and total mess
When you found me in distress

While you sat with me,
You listened to my poetry,
Picked me up when I fell down,
Gave me advice so I listened without a sound.

You bandaged my scars
So no one would see,
And you held me close
So I wouldn't bleed.

My heart began to heal
And our friendship,
I knew without a doubt
Was realer than real.

You kissed my open wounds
And with your love
I became less and less lost
You're the friend I need the most.

So stay by my side
Throughout the whole night
Stay with me until
The day's first light.

We shall make a bond
A very secret promise
One of those rare forebears
Something pure and honest.

Now that you have the gist
Listen to me when I say this:
Best friends forever means forever,
We have a tie that will never be severed.

Friends forever
No matter what we go through
Friends forever
I'll always love you.

This poem is dedicated to my best friend Skyler who is also a poet. I wrote this poem for his birthday.
