Copy

by Lexi Lou   Jul 2, 2004

Everyone copy's someone
in a small little way
but when you copy me
i wish you would go away

i don't call it flattery
i guess i have a copyright
you got my life all worked out
and i could never get it right

i feel possessive of whats mine
and overprotected to
maybe its just my imagination
but they all adore you

i like to be original
a unique one of a kind
yet your a clone of me
its as if your trying to steal my mind

a clone, an imitation
that people all admire
but yet they hate me
when your the version of a liar

you can achieve more then i can
even being a better me
at least i have the pride of knowing
I'm real, not the copy

Awesome poem Lexi. I know people say that imitation is the greatest form of flattery..but there's a line that can be crossed. You did an excellent job in conveying this.
