Picture Perfect

by Jenni Marie   Aug 6, 2013

I never believed the whole concept
of the unconscious subconscious
filtering through daily life, unravelling
the thousand of thoughts that flicker
through the mind each day until;

I started dreaming of you.

No more was it the usual disjointed,
haltering flickering of grey images;
instead vivid 3D technicolour visions
that gave a whole new meaning to
the term crystal clear.

every emotion magnified, every act
as real as you or I. I can still feel the
way your embrace felt, how perfectly
the feel of your skin was upon mine
and I can still taste that strawberry kiss

How perfectly I recall the way blue met
blue and how they both lit up in with
unadulterated joy for the simple reason
of finally being where they belonged
-together

and as dawn crept in, waking the
unconscious subconscious I recall how
I stretched lazily, smiling to myself and
secure in the knowledge that this heart
had finally landed within safe hands.

slight smile appeared as I was left with
serene contentment; realising it wasn't
a dream but a picture perfect

future reality
